League Two promotion hopefuls Rotherham slumped to an FA Cup exit away to York as they lost 3-0 in Wednesday night's first-round replay.

York, relegated from the Football League in 2004 and playing at Blue Square Premier level since then, held Rotherham to a goalless draw in their first meeting at the Don Valley Stadium earlier this month.

The non-league side went ahead at Bootham Crescent when captain Chris Smith headed in after 66 minutes and striker Michael Rankine added a double, the first a penalty, scoring after 71 and 79 minutes.

York will make the trip to Darlington in the second round on November 27.
