Cesc Fabregas may have started the season slowly due to ongoing injury problems, but he has been tipped to destroy Tottenham again tomorrow.
The Arsenal skipper was the catalyst in a 3-0 demolition of Spurs last season - scoring a sensational solo goal as the Gunners ran riot at the Emirates.
And, despite the 23-year-old's slight fitness concerns, Arsenal legend Paul Merson has backed the Spaniard to 'step up to the plate' on Saturday in the north London derby.
“He hasn't been at the top of his game and he needs to start firing again,” Merson told Skysports.com.
“They've been winning games without him playing well - which is unusual - and this is the sort of game where you need your big players to perform.
“He was outstanding in this fixture last year and I expect him to step up to the plate.”
