Kabba sinks shocking Cobblers: Match Review

Steve Kabba struck twice as Barnet came from behind to hammer 10-man Northampton 4-1 and climb off the bottom of the Football League.

Leon McKenzie had fired the visitors into a sixth-minute lead but they were down to 10 men just two minutes later as Liam Davis saw red.

Kabba tucked away a penalty before grabbing a second and Grant Basey and Ricky Holmes struck in the second-half for a comfortable victory..

Northampton's opener came after Anwar Uddin failed to deal with a long punt upfield by goalkeeper Chris Dunn, allowing McKenzie to slide home.

But the game quickly turned on its head as Davis brought Kabba down in the box and was given his marching orders - the striker brushing himself off to convert from the spot.

Kevin Gallen missed a golden opportunity to put the home side ahead before Kabba nodded home a Mark Marshall cross just before half-time to show him how it was done.

Basey then made it 3-1 minutes into the second-half - opening his account for the season with a superb free-kick.

Jake Cole was rarely tested in the Barnet goal but was called upon to keep Dean Beckwith's point-blank header out before Holmes powered home in injury time for a convincing win.
