Former England stopper poised for Foxes loan

Published Add your comment

Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland looks set to join Leicester on loan after losing his place to Ali Al Habsi.

The move was first proposed last weekend but delayed when Kirkland picked up a virus.

"Now he is over the bug, we will look into what we can do to help him enjoy his football," Latics boss Roberto Martinez told the Wigan Evening Post.

"He needs to be playing and being able to maintain that sharpness. That is important, because we will need him to be ready whenever he gets an opportunity to play for Wigan."
