A ruthless Bury side showed their promotion aspirations as they blasted apart Lincoln's three match-winning run with a 5-0 win Sincil Bank.
The Shakers were gifted a perfect start after 13 minutes when Imps keeper Joe Anyon muffed a weak looking shot from Andy Haworth that slithered through his legs and into the net.
Lincoln fought back briefly when Mustapha Carayol almost put Lincoln level with a near perfect header that wobbled the crossbar a minute later.
The game was put beyond Lincoln when Bury scored twice inside three minutes. Nicky Ajose made it 2-0 after a rare Ryan Lowe shot was saved from Anyon. However Lowe was on hand to make it 3-0 with a superb finish that gave the keeper no chance.
Striker Ben Hutchinson, on loan from Celtic, went close for Lincoln just after the restart, but Bury withstood the onslaught and stormed back as Ajose drilled home his second goal in the 71st minute.
Lowe finished off an efficient Bury performance with his second goal in injury time with a shot from about 12 yards. Bury have strengthened their League Two title charge with a superb away win, but more importantly Ryan Lowe IS back!
