Seagulls defender close to return

Brighton manager Gus Poyet expects injured defender Adam El-Abd to be back in action in less than a fortnight.

Centre-half El-Abd was stretchered out of Tuesday's goalless draw at Southampton with a deep cut to his thigh after an accidental collision with team-mate Inigo Calderon.

Poyet said: "Adam got his cut sorted out on Wednesday and the doctor said 10 to 14 days. But knowing Adam as I do, he will be less than that so next week he will be training with us."
