The mentality of Manchester United is still alive and well despite, some players not firing on all cylinders but as a team the characteristics are on show for all to see.
So my question to the Old Trafford non-believers is ‘if United are not playing well and are joint top of the Premier League and have just qualified for the last 16 in the Champions League, what will happen when we do hit top form’?
So if Manchester United have had a stuttering start to the season and remain unbeaten, then what has happened to Arsenal and Chelsea that seen them lose four games already? I’m afraid that ‘Silly Season’ could well be upon us again .
With so many teams capable of taking points off the bigger teams there is a possibility that the League winners will be record breakers by winning with the least amount of points.
With Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City capable of mounting a title challenge the monopoly of a big four is well and truly broken. Teams with fantastic reputations at home including Aston Villa, Birmingham, Blackburn, Stoke and Fulham make it harder to guarantee your three points on your journeys.
It can be argued that Sir Alex Ferguson's side have had a ‘great’ start to the season, to be unbeaten in all competitions, joint top of the Premier League, through to the last 16 of the Champions League and into the quarter finals of the Carling Cup. At this moment on paper we are ticking all the boxes.
