Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has played down rumours the Italian champions are preparing a bid for Cesc Fabregas.
The Spain ace has been linked with a move to boyhood club Barcelona recently but, after the Catalan side signed Javier Mascherano, Inter were reportedly ready to swoop.
However, it is widely believed Fabregas will still move to Camp Nou sooner rather than later – despite Barca’s abundance of central midfielders.
Arsenal’s captain has already stated his commitment to the Gunners’ cause, following Arsene Wenger’s point blank refusal to accept Barca’s £35 million offer back in the summer.
Reports have recently come to the fore, though, that Inter believe the Emirates Stadium club would be persuaded to let Fabregas move to Serie A for an improved offer – thought to be in the region of £45 million.
But Moratti ruled out a move for the Gunners skipper, telling Ansa: “Cesc Fabregas to Inter? I believe he won't arrive.”
