Liverpool fans recognise Elmander impact at Bolton

Although some may see this as a strange choice, no-one else has shown more consistency throughout the past month than Bolton’s Johan Elmander.

The Swedish striker has had a change of fortune under the guidance of Owen Coyle and his attacking style of play.

So far this season, he has scored eight goals including an eye-catching effort at Wolves which is also a contender for goal of the month, have seen the former Toulouse front man stand out as one of the top performers in the Barclays Premier League this season.

It has been a complete turnaround for a player who was written off by many pundits and even his own fans after his first two seasons at the club which saw him score a combined total of just eight league goals.

His form is arguably one of the main reasons Bolton are currently sixth in the table and have enjoyed such good form, losing just twice in the process.

And in a month which has seen many players, and teams for that matter drift in and out of form, Elmander has shown consistency in helping his side remain unbeaten throughout the month of November, including an eye-catching 4-2 win over Champions League hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur.

Whilst fellow strike partner Kevin Davies can lay claim to being one of the star performers in the last month, it is Elmander who has stood out and performed to the level that fans will be more than satisfied with.

Should he continue this rich vein of form, and then Bolton may just find themselves in the top half come the latter stages of the season.
