QPR winger Angelo Balanta has undergone surgery to repair ankle ligament damage and is expected to be sidelined for up to four months.

The 20-year-old Colombian, on a season-long loan at MK Dons, picked up the injury two weeks ago against Brentford and has since missed three games for Karl Robinson's men.

MK Dons medical staff will shortly begin rehabilitation with Balanta with the view of him returning to action in April 2011.
