Liverpool have secured the future of two of their top young talented players as they have announced Martin Kelly and Daniel Pacheco have penned new contracts.
Kelly has impressed since his fast track into the first team this season whereas Pacheco has, unsurprisingly, found it tough to hold down a first team place due to compatriot Fernando Torres.
And Pacheco has admitted already that he would consider leaving Anfield if the opportunity were presented and he could find first team football elsewhere.
However, Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson moved quickly to open up negotiations with the former Barcelona youngster and the club have now announced he has signed a two-year extension.
Kelly, meanwhile, has slotted into Liverpool’s first team perfectly at right-back and has earned rave reviews in his first five senior starts.
Having graduated through Liverpool’s academy, Kelly will want to follow in the footsteps of defensive partner Jamie Carragher, who is currently in his testamonial year at Anfield.
With these negotiations out the way, Liverpool can begin with their shake up of the first team squad, which could see a number of players in and out of the Anfield doors.
