Bayern Munich are expecting bids for reported Liverpool target Mario Gomez.
The 25-year-old Germany striker has struggled to make an impact in Bavaria since joining Bayern for a Bundesliga record fee - thought to be in the region of €32 million - and is now thought to be the subject of interest from a number of top European clubs.
Juventus and Tottenham have reportedly entered the race for the German - who has consistently been touted regarding a move to Liverpool - and now his agent has revealed he expects a number of clubs to ramp up their interest in his client next month.
Oliver Mintzlaff told Sport.co.uk: "Mario Gomez is one of the best strikers in Europe, the best German striker, and the best in the Bundesliga. There is no concrete interest, but it is early, we expect interest. But even with Mario at the moment, it is quiet."
Liverpool have been heavily linked with the former Stuttgart ace for a number of months - even reportedly coming close to bringing him to Anfield in August.
It was alleged at the time that Liverpool were close to sealing a season-long loan deal for Gomez only for Bayern to pull the plug at the last minute.
Whether Liverpool will renew their reported interest in Gomez come January remains to be seen, but the Anfield club are expected to be in the market for at least one more striker.
Roy Hodgson is thought to be monitoring a number of potential targets after admitting Liverpool rely too heavily on the goalscoring talents of Anfield star Fernando Torres.
The Liverpool boss is expected to be backed in the transfer market by NESV as he steps tries to add more potent attacking options to his squad.
