Peterborough manager Gary Johnson has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the Boxing Day visit of Colchester.

On-loan Wolves winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing remains out with a troublesome groin injury while former Lincoln midfielder Lee Frecklington misses out with an ankle injury.

Luckless striker Dave Hibbert is a long-term absentee with a dislocated knee. The former Shrewsbury striker underwent surgery earlier this month and could return in the spring.

However, key attacking trio Aaron Mclean, Craig Mackail-Smith and George Boyd are all fit and raring to go.

The three have scored 34 goals between them this season and will be crucial to any promotion push at London Road.

Midfield duo Charlie Lee and Chris Whelpdale have returned from a successful loan spell with League Two outfit Gillingham and could come into contention.

Marc Tierney and Andy Bond are back in the Colchester squad.

Defender Tierney and midfielder Bond both underwent hernia operations three weeks ago but have made quick recoveries.

Tierney will challenge Bristol City loanee and former Posh player Tom Williams for the left-back slot while Anthony Wordsworth could make way for Bond.

Defender Magnus Okuonghae is still on the sidelines with an ankle injury so Pat Baldwin continues at centre-half.

Steven Gillespie (thigh) and Simon Hackney (back) are not match fit and long-term absentees John-Joe O'Toole and Morten Knudsen (both knee) are still missing, although both played an hour in a recent practice game to step up their recoveries.
