Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll has played down suggestions that he has accepted the vacant post at Sheffield United.

Widespread reports within the national press indicated O'Driscoll had accepted the Blades job after talks with the club, but with nothing yet to materialise, O'Driscoll was quick to deny the claims.

"I am not part of the process of Sheffield United appointing a new manager," he told Rovers' official website.

"All the speculation that has surrounded this over the past week is extremely unhelpful and disruptive to the players and staff at both football clubs and is very unwelcome."
