Campbell double keeps Seasiders dreaming

Published Add your comment

DJ Campbell condemned Sunderland to their first home Barclays Premier League defeat of the season as Blackpool returned to action in style with a 2-0 victory.

The striker, signed by Steve Bruce during his time at Birmingham, thumped home a 52nd-minute volley and then added a second at the death to give the Seasiders all three points in their first outing since December 11.

But the Black Cats had only themselves to blame after passing up a series of opportunities, although Blackpool goalkeeper Richard Kingson made good saves from Jordan Henderson, substitute Steed Malbranque and Darren Bent, who was also denied by the crossbar, either side of half-time.
