AC Milan have slapped a £7 million price tag on Brazil ace Ronaldinho in order to attract suitors from the Barclays Premier League, according to the Daily Mail.
A number of Brazilian clubs, including Ronaldinho’s former side Gremio, have declared their interest in signing the superstar on a free transfer at the end of the season but Milan want a fee for him in January.
Liverpool have also been linked with his signature and are more likely than the Brazilian sides to pay the asking price. However, his age is likely to put the Anfield club off.
Liverpool’s new owners have urged manager Roy Hodgson to look towards the younger players in future transfer windows, advice he has heeded thus far.
And with Sylvain Marveaux set to sign for just £1.5 million, Liverpool’s need for an attacking midfielder is less – they will now make a striker and defender their priority.
The 30-year-old still feels he has a couple of years at the top of the game in him but Gremio have insisted he still has unfinished business there.
Agent Robert de Assis said: “There are many Brazilian clubs interested in Ronaldinho, but I won’t rule out a European move. It seems clear his time with the Rossoneri is at an end.”
