QPR make permanent Smith switch

QPR have completed the permanent signing of midfielder Tommy Smith from Portsmouth for an undisclosed fee.

The 30-year-old initially joined Rangers on loan from cash-strapped Pompey on transfer deadline day earlier this season and has now agreed a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Smith has so far scored four goals in 17 appearances to help Rangers to the top of the npower Championship.
