German side Hoffenheim have made an offer for Liverpool winger Ryan Babel, according to Sky Sports News.
Babel has been linked with a number of teams around Europe and with the Bundesliga side about to lose Demba Ba, Babel has been identified as the perfect replacement.
West Ham have tabled a £5 million for Senegal international Demba, who has gone on strike in order to force Hoffenheim’s hand.
However, they will not sanction a deal with the Hammers until they have brought Liverpool ace Babel to Germany.
Babel has been rumoured to be leaving Anfield since the summer – when he was supposedly in a helicopter on his way to East London to join West Ham on transfer window day.
In the end, though, Babel did not move, insisting he had always wanted to stay with Liverpool on his Twitter page.
Despite the seeming inevitability of the 24-year-old’s exit, Liverpool’s willingness to sell will also be dictated by their ability to find a suitable replacement.
That replacement is likely to be Eden hazard but Liverpool will still face a battle to sign the Belgian due to the number of teams interested.
