Wenger pays respect to 'missed' Leeds

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will not be taking Leeds United lightly when the two sides clash in an early FA Cup kick-off tomorrow.

The Yorkshire outfit caused a major upset last term, with former striker Jermaine Beckford scoring the winner at Old Trafford to knock Manchester United out of the competition.

A fallen giant of English football, Wenger has admitted that the Whites are missed in the top flight of football in this country.

“For a long time, they played at the top so of course they are missed in the Premier League,” said Wenger.

The Gunners boss also revealed his dilemma with regards to allowing Sanchez Watt to play, a decision the Frenchman doesn't come back to bite him.

“I always said that when you give the player on loan it was a bit unfair not to let him play against you, because it gives an advantage to the other clubs,” Wenger told Arsenal's official website.

“He will certainly put every effort in and I hope he will not play tomorrow," he ended with the tounge-in-cheek remark.
