Arsenal have yet again been linked with a move for SC Freiburg striker Papiss Demba Cisse.

Goal.com reported last month that the north London club had been keeping tabs on the 25-year-old and now, according to the Daily Star, they are ready to swoop for the £10 million-rated Senegal international.

And, despite claiming he is happy in the Bundesliga, Cisse would interested in a move to Arsenal.

"There’s no mistaking he’s very happy at Freiburg and he’s under contract until 2014, but Arsenal certainly interests him," a source close to the player told Goal.com.

"Freiburg are a great but small club so it's very likely he will go in the summer. And Cisse is worthy of Champions League football, that is what he's aiming for."

Although notoriously frugal in transfer market, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is thought to be keen on the in-form striker, who has weighed in with an impressive 13 goals this season.

Cisse would perhaps provide Arsenal with a more direct option than currently at their disposal as they pursue their first piece of silverware since 2005.

Valencia winger Juan Mata and CSKA Moscow star Keisuke Honda have also been linked with January moves to Arsenal, but whether the Gunners will invest during the transfer window remains to be seen.
