Rochdale have released striker Jack Redshaw by mutual consent.

The 20-year-old joined the club in the summer on a one-year contract after being released by Manchester City.

However, he found first-team football difficult to come by at Spotland, making just one start and three appearances in total.

A club statement said: "Both parties agreed a move away could reignite Jack's career and he leaves with our best wishes for the future."
