Two goals from left-back Andy Sandell kept Wycombe in the race for automatic promotion with a 2-1 win at Lincoln.

Struggling Lincoln stunned the visitors when winger Gavin McCallum smashed home an unstoppable volley in the 17th minute after good work from Ashley Grimes.

But Lincoln goalkeeper Joe Anyon gifted Wycombe an equaliser just two minutes later when he misjudged a 25-yard free-kick from Sandell.

Wycombe right-back Marvin McCoy struck the Lincoln bar from 25 yards, before Anyon made up for his earlier error when he saved a 37th-minute penalty from Ben Strevens after Lincoln full-back Paul Green brought down Wycombe winger Kevin Betsy.

Betsy was stretchered off but Wycombe took the lead in the 39th minute when Sandell headed home from close range with most of the Lincoln defence watching.

Wycombe goalkeeper Nikki Bull made two good saves to deny Lincoln winger Albert Jarrett and Josh O'Keefe.

But it was Anyon who was called in to action again to deny a goal-bound header from Wycombe midfielder Matt Bloomfield.
