Berrett bags brace at Brunton Park

Carlisle were the biggest npower League One winners of the day as they thrashed relegation-threatened Bristol Rovers 4-0 at Brunton Park.

James Berrett netted the opener from the spot a minute before half-time, and six minutes after the break Rovers were reduced to 10 men when Danny Coles picked up a straight red card.

Craig Curran (57) and Liam Cooper (73) added to Carlisle's lead before Berrett converted his second penalty of the afternoon eight minutes from time.

Oldham moved to within a point of the top six thanks to goals from Dale Stephens (47) and Oumare Tounkara (72) in a 2-0 win at Plymouth while 11th-placed Rochdale were held to a 1-1 draw by Leyton Orient.

Dale took a 35th-minute lead with a Terrell Forbes own goal but Ben Chorley levelled on the hour mark.

At the bottom of the table, there were valuable wins for Dagenham & Redbridge and Yeovil, who were 1-0 victors at Hartlepool and Swindon respectively.

It took the Daggers until four minutes from time to break the deadlock through Gavin Tomlin, while Dean Bowditch (65) netted for Yeovil eight minutes after Michael Rose saw red for Swindon.
