City recall on-loan defender

Walsall's on-loan full-back Ryan McGivern has been recalled by parent club Manchester City.

The Premier League outfit have activated a clause in McGivern's season-long loan deal at the Banks's Stadium, resulting in his return to Eastlands.

The Northern Ireland international, 21, made a total of 16 appearances for the Saddlers but lost his regular starting berth following his red card for a crude challenge in Walsall's FA Cup first-round draw at Fleetwood at the start of November.
