Derby manager Nigel Clough hopes to sign Martyn Waghorn on loan from Leicester in time for the visit of East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Rams' move for Waghorn depends on the fitness of Foxes striker Darius Vassell, who has a hamstring strain.

Sven-Goran Eriksson is reluctant to let Waghorn leave until Vassell is fit, but the Leicester boss has said the former England international should be ready for the weekend game against Millwall.

"We are still talking to Leicester but it is about their injury situation," said Clough.

"We just hope he (Vassell) will be okay in time for Saturday.

"If he is ok, we would love Martyn in for Saturday's match."
