Reading captain Ivar Ingimarsson could make his first appearance at the Madejski Stadium since last March against Hull.

The Icelandic centre-half made his long-awaited comeback from a serious hamstring injury at Doncaster last weekend and came through the full 90 minutes to put himself in contention for another start.

Stand-in captain Matt Mills missed the clash with his former club last weekend with an unspecified leg injury and he is being monitored by manager Brian McDermott.

Forward Noel Hunt and midfielder Jem Karacan both came off with knocks last week and are doubtful after missing training.

Defender Sean Morrison is likely to be involved after completing his move from Swindon, but striker Brett Williams will not feature.

Williams has signed on a permanent basis from Eastleigh this week but was working as a taxi driver until Monday, so is not yet match fit.

Hull will be boosted by the return of defensive duo Liam Rosenior and Paul McShane for the clash.

Rosenior has missed the last three games due to suspension following his dismissal in the New Year's Day home defeat to Leicester, while Republic of Ireland international McShane has also missed the last three matches due to a shoulder injury.

Central defender James Chester, a permanent recent signing from Manchester United, is hoping to retain his place in the starting line-up after making his debut in last week's home win over Barnsley, while another new recruit from Old Trafford, Corry Evans, could make his first appearance.

Defender Kamil Zayatte has left the club by mutual consent to return to France, while midfielder Jimmy Bullard and striker Jay Simpson are hoping for recalls.
