Promising Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey looks set to return to his hometown club Cardiff City on-loan.
The deal would see Ramsey join the Bluebirds for an initial month as he continues his rehabilitation from the double leg break suffered last season.
Since returning to fitness, the Wales international has spent time at Nottingham Forest building up his match sharpness, and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes Ramsey would benefit from another spell away from the club.
"I am considering as well to give Ramsey one month out on loan, with a possibility of him to go to Cardiff," he said.
"I don't want him to go to a Premier League club because I want him to finish the season with us. I just look for competition for him."
Ramsey joined the Gunners from Cardiff for £5million back in June 2008, and after a string of impressive performances had started to cement his place in the Arsenal team before the horror injury at Stoke City last February curtailed his progress.
If the deal goes through, Ramsey will follow Arsenal teammate Jay Emmanuel Thomas to Dave Jones' promotion chasing Welsh outfit.
