Bradford will be without club skipper Lee Bullock for the home clash with Burton due to a torn thigh muscle.
Bantams manager Peter Taylor is already without long-term absentees Simon Ramsden (calf/hip) and Steve Williams (hamstring), but Michael Flynn, yet to appear this season due to a hernia problem, could be included on the substitutes' bench.
Bullock, who sustained the injury in Tuesday night's defeat at Aldershot is expected to be sidelined for a month.
Defender Ramsden, who has made only one appearance this season, has been back in full training for a fortnight and hopes to be in contention within the next two weeks.
Central defender Williams is three weeks away from a return, while midfielder Tommy Doherty (ankle) could be out for eight weeks as he is scheduled to have surgery.
Calvin Zola will make his debut for Burton.
The striker joined Albion on loan from League Two rivals Crewe this week and is likely to go straight into the starting line-up as top scorer Shaun Harrad has left the club.
Harrad had been linked with a move away from the Pirelli Stadium for some time and completed a transfer to Northampton on Thursday.
Defensive trio Andy Corbett, Darren Moore and Nathan Stanton have been nursing injuries but they are expected to be fit.
Burton did not play last weekend as their game against Macclesfield was called off as a mark of respect following the death of Town midfielder Richard Butcher.
