Bolton Wanderers are set to sign Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips, according to the Daily Mirror.
Wright-Phillips was spotted at last night's game with Chelsea at the Reebok Stadium and it is understood that Owen Coyle will beat off competition from Newcastle and Fulham to secure the signature of the midfielder.
Reports previously stated that Wright-Phillips had been discussing a switch to Fulham but apparently, Coyle’s footballing philosophy appeals to Wright-Phillips.
Bolton signed David Wheater from Middlesbrough last week and Wright-Phillips is now believed to be high on his list of priorities. It has also been reported that Coyle is chasing Arsenal striker Carlos Vela who has been made available for loan.
Wright-Phillips began his career at Nottingham Forest before joining Manchester City in 2008. He then transferred to Chelsea before returning to Eastlands in 2008. Since then, he has fallen out of favour with manager Roberto Mancini and has been restricted to appearances in the Europa League.
Coyle can bring in up to two Premier League players on loan.
