Southend United Vs Oxford Utd, Tue 1 Feb 2011

Oxford manager Chris Wilder could hand Simon Hackney his debut against Southend.

The midfielder has joined the U's on-loan for the rest of the season from Colchester and could feature at Roots Hall.

However, Wilder has been dealt a blow after hearing Jennison Myrie-Williams has had his international clearance refused because he has already been under contract with two professional clubs this campaign and therefore will not be able to join the club until next season.

Striker Alfie Potter has recently returned from a shoulder problem and after a couple of substitute appearances, is pushing for a start while fellow frontman Matt Green has joined Cheltenham on loan for the rest of the season.

Southend manager Paul Sturrock could welcome back Glenn Morris from illness.

The goalkeeper has missed the last two games with flu and may return to the side. If Morris does fail to recover in time , Rhys Evans will continue to operate between the sticks.

Sturrock will have to decide whether to recall top scorer Barry Corr or keep continue to operate with Bilel Mohsni as a make-shift striker.

Corr came off the bench to score against Barnet on Saturday while defender Mohsni has scored three goals since being employed in a more attacking role.

Scott Spencer is unavailable for selection after having his contract terminated last week.

The Shrimpers will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to five games.
