Barcelona are reportedly considering a summer bid for Spurs midfielder Gareth Bale.
The former left-back, who has developed into one of the finest attacking left midfielders in the world this season, has impressed in both the Barclays Premier League and Champions League for Tottenham Hotspur this season.
Inter Milan have already been linked with a £40 million move for the player, and now Barcelona are also thought to be tracking the Spurs player with regards to a move at the end of the season.
"We won't be selling Gareth Bale in the summer, it's up to the chairman but I'd be very surprised if we were interested in selling him at any price. You have special players in your team and if we're going to be a top team you've got to keep your top players, you can't be selling Gareth Bale," said the Tottenham Hotspur chief Harry Redknapp.
"You've got three or four players who can make a difference and he's one of those players. And, if you lose him, you can't replace him. Where are you going to replace him? You go and get one from here, one from there, another one."
However, the pulling power of the Catalan club could be tempting for 21-year-old Bale, and sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta confirmed Barca's interest in bringing the Spurs player to the Nou Camp.
"Gareth is certainly an interesting a player - he has typical features that make him set for a league like La Liga."
Sportsvibe claim that Barcelona will offer Tottenham Hotspur £40 million to take the player from White Hart Lane, although it's unknown if that will meet the club's valuation of the player.
Pep Guardiola is thought to have taken notice of the player after his stunning hat-trick for Spurs in the San Siro last year, and has stated his desire to bring the player to his club to the hierarchy at Barcelona.
