Tottenham Hotspur striker target Guiseppe Rossi is set to stay at Villarreal.

The Italian international forward was linked with a move to Spurs on deadline day, with reports claiming Harry Redknapp had offered in the region of €41 million for the player.

However, the player has only recently signed a new deal with the Yellow Submarine and insists he's happy to continue plying his trade in La Liga despite the interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

"I am happy at this club. My objective is to score more goals and I do not have preoccupations about my future," said Rossi.

Redknapp missed out on a number of players in the later stages of the January transfer window, with reports that the Spurs boss bid for four strikers from the Spanish league on the final day alone.

The White Hart Lane outfit were also chasing Charlie Adam and Phil Neville, but Tottenham Hotspur failed in their efforts to bring any players to north London.

It is thought that Villarreal value the player at €50 million, and Rossi's comments make it seem unlikely that he would choose to move to Spurs if the Barclays Premier League outfit decide to make another move at the end of the season.

Redknapp will have to look elsewhere in his striker search, as Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to bring in a player from El Madrigal.
