Liverpool have reportedly targeted Ajax starlet Christian Eriksen as a potential summer signing.

The Danish teenager has been linked with a string of Barclays Premier League clubs after a number of eye-catching performances at domestic and international level, with Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish thought to be one of the interested parties.

Damien Comolli, director of football strategy at Liverpool, is also thought to be taken by the player, and Sportsvibe claims the Frenchman was 'impressed' by the player during his time in the Dutch capital whilst negotiating a deal for Luis Suarez.

A product of the famed Ajax academy, Dennis Bergkamp was rumoured to have alerted Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger over the player's future potential close to a year ago.

The Gunners were linked with a move, but it never materialised in the summer and it's unknown if Arsenal are once again interested in bringing the player to the Emirates.

New Liverpool owners NESV have set a remit of bringing in talented young player to Anfield, and Eriksen would certainly fit the bill as one of the most talented teenagers in Europe.

After making his first team debut in January 2010, Eriksen has appeared 30 times in the Eredivisie for the Godenzonen and has become a regular for the Dutch giants this term.

With a recommendation from one of the greatest Arsenal players of all time, it appears the player has a massive future ahead of him and Barclays Premier League clubs are eager to bring the player to these shores.

Eriksen's signature would be somewhat of a coup were Liverpool able to land the player, and Eriksen has the potential to become a future Anfield hero were he to switch to Merseyside.
