St Johnstone ease through

St Johnstone earned themselves a Scottish Cup quarter-final meeting with part-timers Brechin City as they eased past First Division Partick 2-0.

Although they laboured to make the breakthrough with Murray Davidson's 42nd-minute opener, there was little doubt thereafter that it would be the SPL men who would progress.

Substitute Liam Craig's stunning 30-yard drive put the icing on the cake for the home team who will now fancy their chances of seeing off Brechin in the next round.
