Blackpool stop the rot

Blackpool ended a run of five straight Barclays Premier League defeats by taking a point off 10-man Aston Villa in a 1-1 draw at Bloomfield Road.

Gabriel Agbonlahor opened the scoring for the visitors after 10 minutes with a wonderful solo effort, but Elliot Grandin equalised four minutes later for the Seasiders.

Jean Makoun was then sent off for a challenge on DJ Campbell before Villa's Ashley Young made an unsuccessful appeal for a penalty in stoppage time.
