Bournemouth manager Lee Bradbury has injury doubts over forwards Danny Ings and Ben Williamson as well as midfielder Danny Hollands ahead of the crucial clash at home to promotion rivals Huddersfield.
Ings was forced out of Saturday's 1-0 win at Walsall due to an ankle injury and faces a late fitness test, while Hollands suffered a dead leg in training but is expected to be available.
Williamson would have been the natural replacement for Ings but he is struggling with an ankle knock and is also set for a late check.
The potential absence of Williamson and Ings would leave Bradbury with the problem of being unable to name a forward on the bench as Steve Lovell is still missing with a long-term ankle injury and youngsters Lyle Taylor and Jayden Stockley are on loan at Lewes and Dorchester respectively.
Defender Mitchell Nelson could be named amongst the substitutes after his return from a recent loan spell at Eastbourne.
Midfielder Mark Molesley is edging closer to his long-awaited return to first-team action following an 18-month lay-off due to a foot injury with the club looking to arrange a behind-closed-doors friendly match for him next week.
Joey Gudjonsson is expected to return to Huddersfield's starting line-up.
The Icelandic midfielder missed last week's goalless draw at Oldham through illness but has since returned to full training.
Town's leading goalscorer Jordan Rhodes could also return to the squad after missing the last four games due to an ankle injury, while fellow forward Alan Lee is fit to play despite sustaining a head injury against Oldham.
Town manager Lee Clark has no new injury or suspension problems, but goalkeeper Alex Smithies (knee), defender Liam Ridehalgh (glandular fever), plus midfielders Tom Clarke (ankle) and Damien Johnson (knee) all remain sidelined.
Newcastle defender Tamas Kadar has returned to St James' Park after the expiry of his one-month loan spell.
Town, third in the table, trail second-placed Bournemouth by three points but have a game in hand.
