Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the visit of Colchester.

Captain Grant McCann was restored to the starting XI against Tranmere on Saturday and scored one and made the other so will keep his place in midfield.

Central defender Gabriel Zakuani has recovered from a shoulder injury and will again partner Ryan Bennett.

Midfielder Lee Frecklington is set for an operation on his hernia which will keep him out for another month so Charlie Lee is likely to play alongside McCann.

Striker Dave Hibbert is the only other absentee as he steps up his comeback from a dislocated knee suffered back in November.

A 12th home win of the season could see Posh climb into third place in the npower League One table.

Colchester will check on Pat Baldwin and Steven Gillespie ahead of the trip.

Defender Baldwin (Achilles) and striker Gillespie (hamstring) have missed the last two matches through injury but neither problem is too serious.

If the duo are passed fit, they may have to settle for places on the bench after the Us secured a 2-0 victory over Walsall on Saturday.

Defensive pair Magnus Okuonghae and Brian Wilson are close to returning from ankle injuries, although they will probably need a reserve game under their belts.

Midfielder John-Joe O'Toole remains a long-term absentee with a cruciate injury.

The Us have not won on the road since October and have not scored in their last six away matches.
