Pompey keen on Kanu return

Published Add your comment

Portsmouth hope to have striker Kanu back in time for the trip to Ipswich on Saturday.

The veteran Nigerian missed Tuesday night's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace due to personal reasons, but boss Steve Cotterill expects him back on the south coast on Thursday.

"Kanu had a personal issue I don't think I should air to the world," said Cotterill.

"He had to go home to Nigeria urgently and that was on Saturday.

"He ended up staying and playing the game against Barnsley, but he had to go home.

"He will be back in on Thursday."
