Cardiff have secured the loan signing of goalkeeper Stephen Bywater from Derby until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old has joined for a second spell in the Welsh capital, having spent time on loan with the Bluebirds in 2002.

Speaking to Cardiff's official website, Bywater said: "It wasn't an opportunity that I could turn down.

"Cardiff is a big club and I want to contribute towards helping it get to where it belongs, the Premier League.

"I want to test myself and this promotion push is a pressure situation.

"I came here back in 2002 at Ninian Park and I remember the place rocking. Cardiff's support has always been fantastic."
