Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson is again without suspended strike duo Ricky Sappleton and Emile Sinclair for the home clash with Crewe.

The pair were sent off along with Wycombe's Dave Winfield during the stormy League Two encounter at Moss Rose, and must now serve the second game of their three-match bans.

Macclesfield were charged with a breach of FA rule E20(a) - a failure to ensure that players and/or officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion &/or refrained from provocative and/or violent behaviour following the Wycombe match.

Now the club have taken their own disciplinary action following the mass confrontation and fined every player involved in the fixture as well as Simpson and his management team.

Striker Vinny Mukendi could remain sidelined with a knee injury.

Crewe boss Dario Gradi is likely to name an unchanged side for the short trip.

Alex halted a six-match winless streak and a run of three straight defeats with a 4-1 home victory over Burton on Saturday.

Short of defensive cover and with Matt Tootle ill, Gradi was forced into shuffling his defence against the Brewers with Patrick Ada moving to right-back. That opened the door for Adam Dugdale to make his seventh start of the season at centre-back.

It turned out to be one of Crewe`s more solid defensive performances with both Ada and Dugdale putting in good shifts.

With Tootle still out and usual right-back cover Mat Mitchel-King nursing a back injury, it means Gradi has no room to manoeuvre.

However, the Alex boss is trying to bring in a young defender on loan from Manchester City.
