Northampton boss Gary Johnson has made Wolves left-back Jamie Reckord his third signing at Sixfields.

Johnson has already strengthened his squad with the additions of Peterborough duo Steve Collis and Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi and has now brought Reckord in on loan until the end of the season.

Johnson said: "Jamie is primarily a left-back and he was very close to joining Swansea on deadline day in January."

He added: "He's not played a league game yet but I've been after him for a little while when I was at Bristol City and then Peterborough.

"He is a very athletic, strong player with power and pace and they have got very high hopes for him at Wolves.

"If he does well there is a possibility that we could take him on a season-long loan next year. I am not a big fan of short terms loans but if we can get a long-term loan sorted out for next season then that is a different matter."
