Wycombe defender Dave Winfield hopes to regain his place in the side for the visit of Stevenage.

The centre-half has missed the last three games through suspension after he was sent off for his part in the mass brawl at Macclesfield last month which cost the club #9,000 in an FA fine.

He is available to return but has seen experienced duo Chris Westwood and Leon Johnson excel in his absence so he may have to make do with a place on the bench.

On-loan Watford defender Rob Kiernan returned to the bench during the midweek win at Barnet after undergoing intensive treatment on a hip injury.

Left-back Andy Sandell is still sidelined with a knee problem that is expected to keep him out for a minimum of six weeks, though.

Stevenage manager Graham Westley is set to welcome Mark Roberts back from suspension for the trip.

Roberts should return to the squad after completing a one-match ban following his sending off in the 2-0 defeat to Torquay last week.

Westley has an injury doubt over defender Jon Ashton who lasted just 15 minutes of the midweek defeat to Hereford with a leg injury and is struggling to be fit for the trip.

If Ashton does fail in his race to be passed fit, Luke Foster will come in or Michael Bostwick will adopt an unusual role in defence.

Midfielder John Mousinho, as well as strikers Peter Winn and Ben May, will all be looking for a recall to the starting line-up after they dropped to the bench against the Bulls.
