AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng believes his former club Tottenham Hotsphur will have a tough time holding on to Gareth Bale in the summer transfer window.

Bale's performances in the Champions League have sparked interest throughout Europe, with Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona all preparing bids for the winger.

Boateng came face-to-face with Bale during Milan's Champions League tie with Spurs on Wednesday night and says the club will struggle to keep hold of the 21-year-old.

"Gareth was the player all the Milan players have been talking about, because of his pace and left foot," Boateng told The Mirror.

"I think the whole of Europe is after Gareth, because he is a great player.

"The way he played against Inter was impressive and everyone said: 'Who is this player? We need to get him.'

"I think it will be difficult for Tottenham to keep him but he is feeling good here in London, so we will see in the summer what is going to happen.

"With his quality, his pace and his strength, he could do well in any league."
