Liverpool and Spurs target Taye Taiwo has begged for a summer move to England, according to reports.

The Marseille full back has been on the radar of a number of clubs across Europe, with Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish thought to be keen on bringing the player to Anfield.

France Football magazine claims the Nigerian international has held crisis talks with his current club, asking them to reject offers from interested parties in Italy and Spain and hold out for a 'dream' English offers.

Liverpool face competition for the player's signature though, with both Spurs and Newcastle also linked with a summer swoop.

Dalglish is known to be in the market for a left back, with Paul Konchesky out on loan currently and heading for a summer Liverpool exit unless things drastically change.

Jose Enrique, Oscar Wendt and Fabio Coentrao have all been named as potential replacements for the Merseysiders, and it appears that the Liverpool boss has a shortlist full of options.

NESV proved that they are willing to back the manager financially in January, and the clubs fans will hope the cheque book comes out once again in the summer as Liverpool look to rebuild.
