Le Havre teen sensation Benjamin Mendy has been linked with a move to Arsenal reports the Daily Mail.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has identified the 16-year-old defender as a potential star of the future, and wants to bring him to the Emirates Stadium at the earliest opportunity.
The left back is presently too young to sign a deal at the French club so Arsenal are hoping to capitalise on the French under-17 international having been tipped off about Mendy by his many connections in his native France.
The signing would represent a move which is very much focused on the future of Arsenal football club, with Wenger renowned for scouting some of the world’s brightest young talent.
Mendy would likely go straight into the Arsenal academy to be nurtured by the Gunners extensive coaching staff before being blood into the first-team.
Arsenal have extensive options at left back with Gael Clichy and Kieran Gibbs vying for the first team spot at present.
But with recent uncertainties over the future of Clichy after the fully-fledged French international stalled on signing a new contract, Wenger will be keen to add further defensive additions.
