Chelsea legend Kerry Dixon has backed new signing Fernando Torres to find his goalscoring touch again.

The £50 million man has yet to find the net since making his debut against former club Liverpool last month.

The Blues' second highest record goalscorer has plenty of experience of finding the net at Stamford Bridge and says the Spanish striker needs to be patient in the wait for his first Chelsea goal.

"Torres has got to keep getting in the positions," Dixon said.

"His movement in the games has been excellent and his link-up play has got better and better. It was terrible for him to have to play Liverpool on his debut but he has got progressively better in each game and it is only a matter of time before the goals will come.

"And if Torres was to get goals on a regular basis towards the end of the season then the momentum grows."
