Sheffield Wednesday defender Lewis Buxton is back in contention for the home clash with Peterborough.

Buxton has been sidelined for the last seven matches due to a torn hamstring, but could challenge for a place in the starting line-up as the Owls look to bounce back from Saturday's home defeat to Notts County.

But striker Gary Madine remains sidelined after missing out over the weekend with a bruised knee and calf trouble.

Gary Megson's side struggled to create chances against Notts County, so the Owls boss could opt for changes with winger Jermaine Johnson, striker Paul Heffernan and midfielders Darren Potter and Giles Coke all pressing for recalls.

Megson has no new injury or suspension problems as his side chase their first home league win in six matches.

Rampant Peterborough are set to be unchanged.

Posh missed two penalties against Carlisle at the weekend but still cruised to a 6-0 win and manager Darren Ferguson is likely to name the same side at Hillsborough.

But Ferguson may have to appoint a new penalty taker after captain Grant McCann and George Boyd missed from the spot at the weekend.

Midfielder Lee Frecklington has had a hernia operation and will be sidelined for at least a month while new signing Paul Taylor will not feature as he is not match fit.

Striker Dave Hibbert is absent as he steps up his comeback from a dislocated knee suffered back in November.
