Liverpool wing wizard target Sylvain Marveaux is yet to decide on his future destination, despite press speculation on the contrary.
The Rennes star has been heavily linked with a move away from Ligue 1, with Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish thought to be amongst the leading contenders looking to land the player on a free in the summer.
Press reports in Britain claimed the Merseysiders were on the verge of securing a pre-contract agreement over the weekend, but the 24-year-old has denied that a move to Liverpool is imminent.
“I never spoke to any English journalist and I do not understand why they wrote it,” the player told L’Equipe.
“Today I have still not decided which club I will play for next season. When I have made my choice I will announce it."
Liverpool are known to be in the market for attacking talent, with Dalglish hinting at a number of squad changes in the summer as he looks to add his own style on the team.
A string of wingers are thought to be on the Anfield radar, with Ashley Young, Charles N'Zogbia and Eden Hazard all thought to have been monitored by the Reds.
NESV, the club's owners, are also set to back the manager with transfer funds come the end of the season, although the opportunity to land Marveaux on a free is thought to appeal to both the board and Dalglish.
The decision lies in the hands of the player though, and Liverpool will hope the former French U21 international will choose the Barclays Premier League as his new home.
