Liverpool are being linked with a shock summer swoop for Argentine international Diego Perotti.
The Sevilla winger has been in fine form for the La Liga outfit this term when rotated in the first team, and Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has reportedly taken an interest in the player.
It's claimed that an offer in the region of £8 million could bring the player to Anfield, according to The People, although it's thought that Liverpool could face stiff competition for Perotti's signature.
Signed by Los Rojiblancos in 2007, the player spent two seasons with the B team before earning his chance at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, and has since been rewarded for his performances with an international cap.
Perotti is the latest winger to be linked with a move to Merseyside, with Ashley Young, Charles N'Zogbia and Eden Hazard all thought to be on the Liverpool radar.
The Argentine's versatility makes him a potentially stronger option for Dalglish, and the Liverpool chief could use the player to add pace and creativity down either flank.
Value does not appear to be an issue either with owners NESV set to back the manager financially once again in the summer, and the Liverpool boss is set to make a number of changes at the first opportunity.
