Newcastle United target Johan Elmander is being courted by Italian pair Juventus and Fiorentina, report talkSPORT.
The Bolton Wanderers striker is in the middle of his best goalscoring season in English football since joining from Toulouse for £10 million in 2006.
But the Trotters star rejected a 12-month extension to his current deal which expires this summer and appears to be on the way out of the Reebok Stadium and a host of clubs, including The Magpies, were thought to be interested.
However Italian giants Juventus and Fiorentina are now reportedly interested, but neither could offer the Swede European football, which might be the next step up for the 29-year-old.
Despite Elmander being available on a free, Toon fans are anticipating plenty of activity in the transfer market, as the St James's Park club attempt to replace Andy Carroll who was sold for £35 million in the January transfer window, and manager Alan Pardew will reportedly have all of that fee to start investing in his squad.
